A native from Ecuador, Diaz-Torres has been involved with
sustainable economic development programs for years while working with
CARE's
Ecuador office (one of the largest international aid agencies in the world),
Refugee Women’s Network, and three local chapters of the
U.S. Small Business
Administration Women’s Business Centers.
After gathering intensive work experience in
real estate and graphic design in
Ecuador’s private sector where she occupied executive marketing positions,
she decided to get involved with the committee of the first nationwide
initiative to discuss public policy affecting poverty issues in Ecuador. Since
that time, she has used her business and marketing skills for public service and
to assist micro and small businesses.
Paola holds a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in
accounting, an MBA with a specialization in marketing, and an MPA (Master in
Public Administration) with a focus in Non-profit Management for International
Development Organizations from Georgia State University. She has extensive
experience in general business consulting, nonprofit development, program
design, and monitoring & evaluation. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
